My Story

We are raising funds for 4Louis in memory of Alfyn Greatrex, our beautiful little boy. He was a very longed for baby; we had been trying for a baby since February 2015 and after going through IVF and having multiple failed transfers, we were over the moon to be able to announce to family and friends we were expecting a baby, due on Christmas day - his daddy's birthday. 

We found out at his 20 week scan that he was poorly and after being referred to the fetal medicine unit at Manchester, we quickly learned that our baby boy wouldn't survive until term.

Alfyn was born sleeping on Friday 10th September 2021 at 24weeks and 6 days.  

4Louis supported us by providing a cuddle (cool)cot; a specialist piece of equipment that stops the baby's body deteriorating, which enabled our families to spend some time with him before our final goodbyes.

This specialist piece of equipment is £1200 and not every hospital in the UK has one,  and we want to fund enough cuddle cots so no parent has to be without.

Cuddle blankets which are used for older babies; toddlers and young children are £4200 and there's currently 48 hospitals on the waiting list for one!

4Louis also provide memory boxes, so no parent has to leave the hospital empty handed and much more; including staff training for midwives and Doctors. They are a non profit organisation and rely on donations to help fund all the amazing stuff they do!
