Cygnet Maple House
My Story
We are a 16 bed, highly specialised service providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for women with personality disorders in East Bridgford, Nottinghamshire.
Our aim is to try and raise as much money as possible in a year, doing lots of different events for a cause that would really benefit from our efforts. We have chosen 4 Louis because being a womens unit we wanted to do something for a charity that effects women but, not a bigger charity that always benefits. We felt this charity fitted this category well. This is a cause which can effect so many women and families as a whole and it is so important to bring awareness and try and do our bit to support families who suffer miscarriages and still births.
In January we carried out our first charity event which was a 12 mile walk around Nottinghamshire. This alone made nearly £700.
In March we did a charity car boot sale and sold all of our unwanted items and made £230.
On May 2nd we are had a big sleep out in the grounds of Maple House. No tents , just old school with sleeping bags. Patients and staff were involved and was a lot of fun with little sleep. At this point our total raised is £1116.
We had our 2nd Car boot of the year in 24th May 2025. We again, sold all of our unwanted possessions and a great time was held by everyone. This took our total to £1287.
We held a bake sale within the grounds of Maple House on Saturday 21st June. Patients and staff made cakes for this and we also had donations made by Morrisons too. We made around £140 towards our total.
We also did a charity football match, where staff and patients had a football match, all to raise money for 4 Louis.
We held our famous Maple Fest on 18th July, where we held raffles and sold handmade goods. We made £161 from this.
We planned a charity car wash also within the grounds of Cygnet Maple House, East Bridgford Nottinghamshire. We washed cars for £5 each (exterior only). This was a lot of fun and was a great way to raise lots of money.
We also held a couple of impromptu car boot sales in order to raise the total even further during the summer and autumn.
Our final event of the year, will be held on Friday 28th November. This is a fancy dress charity walk, carried out by staff and patients of Maple House. We will be walking around Holme Pierrpont Lake either once or twice. This is each persons choice. We aim to make £2000 at the very least.
All money raised will go directly to 4louis.
Please feel free to donate in between events.
Thank you to all of our supporters and anyone who has donated so far to this amazing cause.
We will be taking our final cheque to 4louis headquarters on 17th December.
What an incredible year. Xxx
